Camping Ostrov in Malá Skála is centrally located in the protected landscape area of the Bohemian Paradise. The site is on an island (Ostrov) in the Jizera River. All within walking distance you can go climbing, canoeing, hiking, mountain biking and much more! The campsite is accessible both by car and public transportation. We rent out a variety of 4 - to 6-person furnished tents on this site. Larger families or groups can hire more tents or sleepingplaces in small extra tents. It is also possible to bring small extra tents yourself! |

The campsite Ostrov
The camp is located in the heart of the tourist village Mala Skala. The camping is on an island in the river Jizera and offers ideal possibilities for summer- and cyclingrecreation. You can make lovely walking- and cyclingtours directly from the campingsite. Also appealing are the daytrips to the nearby rock-towns of the Bohemian Paradise and the zoo's in Liberec and Dvur Kralove which harbours the second-largest safari park in Europe.
In the nearby village of Malá Skála you can swim, play tennis, canoe, raft, climb, abseil and much more . This place is ideal for hiking and mountain biking. Also a passionate angler can have the experience of his lifetime.
On camping Ostrov ("Island"), you can stay in decorated tents. There's a restaurant with terrace you can use. Also a fisherman can have an ideal holiday here. And at the end of the summer, you "like the Czechs" can look for mushrooms in the surrounding woods.

Malá Skála
The first historical mention of Malá Skála was made
at the end of the 14th century. In the year 1425, the castle Vranov was built on
the rocky ridge above the town of Vranov by the Valdštejn family. Ownership of the
castle held by several noble families over the subsequent century. One of the last
owners was František Zachariáš Römisch, who built today's Pantheon on the ruin of
the old castle. You will find more information about the castle at
www.pantheon.org. Malá Skála, as we know it today, was formed in the year 1953
by merging ten independent towns.
Reaching Malá Skála is very easy. You can easily
travel to Malá Skála by car, as well as by bus and train. The pension is a 5 minute
walk from the bus stop and train station. There are 3 restaurants, a grocery store,
a pizzeria and a pastry shop close to the pension. You will find a map of Malá Skála,
with important landmarks marked for better orientation. 
The village Malá Skála is placed in the centre of Bohemian Paradise. Ideal for families, peace & tranquillity seekers, nature lovers en active tourists. The area surrounding Malá Skála is according to experts one of the finest cycling and hiking areas in northern Bohemia.
